Ole Miss Has Many “Problems” According to New Twitter Account

An anonymous student is using the popular social-networking site to bring light to some humorous issues this campus suffers from.

A new phenomenon has hit Ole Miss tweeters. http://twitter.com/ - !/OleMissProblems is an anonymous account on the popular, social-networking site Twitter that sums up amusing issues students deal with on a day to day basis.

The account was instantly a success. Though ‘OleMissProblems’ has only been tweeting since April 7, 2011, it already has 1, 684 followers and is rapidly growing.

Students like Joey Radcliff, a senior political science major, quickly caught on to the trend. “Twitter suggested I follow ‘OleMissProblems’, so I went to check out some of their tweets,” said Radcliff, “I could instantly relate to what they tweeted about, and I believe it caught on so quickly because other Ole Miss tweeters could relate too.”

Lindsey Neyman, a junior broadcast journalism major, is also an avid follower of the account. “I find it very humorous,” said Neyman “It’s a great way to bring Ole Miss problems to light, while at the same time putting a funny spin on it.”

Unfortunately for those inquisitive tweeters, the person behind ‘OleMissProblems’ does not plan on revealing their identity anytime soon; so all questions were answered through direct message on Twitter.

They got the idea from other current Twitter accounts such as ‘WhiteGirlProblems’ and ‘SororityGirlProblems’, but decided to put a little Mississippi twist on it. “I noticed there wasn’t a “problem”account for the students of Ole Miss, said ‘OleMissProblems’, so I ran with the idea.”

Not only does the account recount problems or issues, but it can also be informative about Double Decker, the C-Store, and even the tornado sirens. “I found out about the severe weather through http://www.thedmoline.com/ and ‘OleMissProblems’ said Radcliff.

The mystery man or woman admits they may also come clean if they hits 10,000 followers. “I have big plans for this,” they said, “bigger than any Ole Miss Problem you can think of.”

Due to contract, faculty ranging from professor to maintenance staff, declined to comment on the subject.
